A few months ago I decided to put my name forward in the election process to become a Director of our trade body called the Homecare Association (previously UKHCA) because I thought I could use my experience at 1st Homecare to help some of the smaller Care Providers who are struggling with red tape and ever increasing fee pressure from Local Authorities.
I am delighted to announce that, yesterday, I was voted by members to be one of their directors. Our CEO, Jane Townson, has had some good recent coverage in the Press and on TV in trying to explaining the difficulties in recruiting to the sector and the funding difficulties that the sector is going through. I very much look forward to supporting Jane and the organisation over the coming years.
