Helping Margaret to stay in the home she loves
We first met Margaret after she had a fall in at her home in Oxford in 2023. We provided her a live-in carer for six weeks and, with our support, her rehabilitation was successful – she regained her strength and was able to live independently again.
In December 2024, because of the positive relationship she’d built with our team, Margaret contacted us again to discuss live-in care in Oxford. She had just been discharged from hospital and her enablement package was coming to an end. This time, due to her decline in mobility, she needed us on a more permanent basis for both live-in care and home care visits, which began in January 2025.
While we arranged Margaret’s care package, our management team worked with Adult Social Care, the Police, and healthcare professionals to resolve a pre-existing safeguarding issue. This collaboration successfully mitigated risks and ensured Margaret’s ongoing safety and peace of mind.
Margaret is a very determined lady, and we work closely with her Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist to ensure that the equipment she has in place allows her to remain as independent as possible. As well as providing day-to-day help with Margaret’s general needs, our carers take her to her regular hairdressers appointment, which is very important to her.
And for the first time in eight years, she wasn’t alone at Christmas.
